Choose between betting on a single horse to win, place, or show, or an exotic bet (see Types of Bets).

Place your bet

At the betting window or a self-serve kiosk, specify the race number, bet type, program number, and the amount you want to wager. “Number 3, $5, to win!” Keep your ticket and cash it in should you win!

isn't it odd

2-1 odds mean that for every $1 bet, you could win $2 if the horse wins. If the odds are lower, the horse is more likely to win but the payout will be smaller. On the other hand, higher odds indicate a lower chance of winning but a bigger payout if successful.
